Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fishing license?
No, when you fish from the Mishell II you do not need a fishing license because you are covered under our charter boat license. Learn about Florida Fishing License Requirements.
When should I reserve a trip?
We recommend making your reservation as far in advance as possible. Because Florida’s waters can be fished year-round, all trips should be made as far in advance as possible so you can reserve your preferred date and time slots. Half-day trips are first-come, first-served, so it pays to reserve early because these trips can fill up fast.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, a 1/3 deposit is required to reserve a date for the Mishell II for any reason. Your deposit is for the service of our holding that reserved date and time that you requested. Full payment is required in cash (preferred) or credit card by the end of your trip. Visa and MasterCard are accepted but incur a 3% processing charge.
What is your cancellation policy?
If we need to cancel your trip due to weather deemed unsafe by the captain, we can reschedule you for another date and use your deposit towards your new date. Cancellations made within 14 days of a scheduled departure will forfeit the deposit. No-shows forfeit their deposit.
How many people can go on a trip?
We are a six-pack charter boat. If you have over six people or require more than one boat, we can make arrangements for another boat, and conduct a mini-fishing tournament between the boats. We’re expert at arranging fun fishing trips for all ages and occasions.
Do you fish with live bait?
Live bait is your option, $80.00 per dozen.
What should we bring?
Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and camera! We suggest closed-toe shoes with non-skid soles. Most athletic shoes work great. It’s cooler on the water, so even on a mild day it’s smart to bring a jacket or sweatshirt. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. Alcoholic beverages are okay too. If you plan to keep your catch, bring a cooler or waterproof container for your trip home.
Can I get my catch mounted?
Taxidermy is a great way to preserve your catch (and the experience you had catching it). We work exclusively with Gray Taxidermy if you are interested in hanging your trophy catch on the wall! On the Mishell II we have all that is necessary to process your order. Even if you prefer to catch and release your fish to fight another day, you can still get a beautiful and accurate replica mount through us.
